The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, animals (and humans) are emerging from hibernation, and music is in the air! We had a lovely time with Gene Pool last July, and this month they're back for more, along with Ukulele 128 and The Moondogs.
Ukulele 128 is a small group of women who have been playing together for 8 years. They have played in local pubs, parades, farmers markets, school, nursing homes and senior centers. All were taught by their dear teacher and mentor, Lisa McCormick.
The Moondogs play original instrumental music with a mix of contemporary styles. Their unique sound includes world folk, bluesy jazz, and gypsy groove.
Gene Pool consists of Gene Morrison on vocals and dobro, John Pozzi on guitar and vocals, Dave Arnold on mandolin, guitar and vocals, Jake Geppert on banjo, guitar, mandolin and vocals, and Colin Blazej on stand up bass and vocals. They are scattered around southern VT, with Gene living in Peru, Dave, Dorset, Jake, Weston and John and Colin from Windham. Four of five members write original songs, though they also play what they like (and enjoy it as often as possible).
Saturday, May 10th at 7:00 pm in Newfane Union Hall. Doors open at 6:30, music starts at 7.
